Moorfields Eye Hospital aims to be the safest place to have ophthalmic treatment with the best outcomes for routine and specialist eye treatments. We will offer a high quality, caring and personal experience wherever patients use our services.
Our staff follow evidence based guidelines and policies to ensure care is based on up to date medical and scientific evidence. All of our subspecialty services measure the results of their care, known as outcomes. Outcome measurement shows whether the care given reduced symptoms, improved eye health, improved vision or prevented complications and loss of vision. We use patient reported outcome measures (PROMs) to ensure the results of care are measured in terms of how patients feel.
Moorfields has created a quality plan following a wide consultation with patients and professionals working in and outside of the hospital. The plan describes what we aim for at all stages in our patients' journey to ensure care is excellent.
In our quality, safety and patient experience pages you can find a number of reports outlining our achievements, the issues that we have identified and what we are doing about these issues to improve care for patients.
